ANBERNIC RG35XX Plus

I grew up in the 80s and I had all the handhelds as a kid. This thing is awesome!! I’m so glad to have one and I’ll surly buy another for my wife and my 9 year old too. Great value for the cost!! Didn’t cost a lot and it was shipped fast! I’m super happy with the purchase.

The default OS is fine, but to really unleash it, you need to install a 3rd party OSs This gives you access to "portmaster", which lets this device support such amazing games as Stardew Valley, and Balatro. It runs them, and many others great. Since there is wifi, over 500 free games can be installed easy.

A little flimsy on the shoulder buttons. Otherwise good build, works and was delivered pretty quickly. Can't complain

I saw this console from a friend of mine and I decided to give it a try, because it has been a really long time sinc I started getting curious about this kind of consoles.

I have bought an Anbernic RH35XX Plus, I've had it for three weeks and I'm really happy about it!
It works flawlessly, it's really easy to use and configure it and the feeling of it feels great!
The material feels solid, it doesn't seems like a "cheap" device!

I really wanted a vertical DMG like experience and since most of my games are for that system: I opted to get the grey model. I ordered from the US warehouse in New Jersey and it took about a week to reach Oregon. Its small, the screen is great, speakers are perfect for old 8-16-32bit games so for the most part, I am happy with my purchase! I do have some feedback:
-the shoulder buttons are loose; shake the device and I can hear the buttons rattle. I’d love to see the next iteration feel more solid.
-I’m not a big fan of the black X, Y buttons. They feel out of place and takes me out of a DMG immersion. Why not use all magenta buttons or a mix of concave and convex magenta buttons?
-On startup, the speakers gently pop with some type of feedback. Perhaps what I am hearing is similar to the old DMG booting up. It’s what I choose to believe.
-The stock OS works fine. It works and while there are themes out there, they didnt match what I was looking for. It was only after browsing themes for Knulli that I decided to pop in a TF1 Card with that OS installed. Using the Colorful theme, I now feel that the my 35XXPlus has the right OS and theme.

I really like the device and would recommend it yet like with all devices, theres room for improvement but nothing that warrants a star being taken away. In the future, should there be a 2025 or 2026 version, I’ll consider looking at any iterative improvements but for the time being, I’m happy with the capabilities and using Knulli.
