ANBERNIC RG40XX H

A great little device, easy to play on, controls are good, especially the sticks, and the screen is just right, not too big not too small

Used with Knulli OS to play essentially on GBA, DS and PS1 games. This products is a game changer for my gaming session. What a pleasure to play to my firsts games console on a modern and very portable console with such a bright screen.

I got two of these RG 40XX H (you can come up with better names). Certainly have many more of them (nah, the boxes are not empty and yes I have more). RG 40XX H? Decent chipset, excelent price (I got em for 60USD each). One of the RG40XX H has some squeeky joystick that is terribly annoying (once you hear it you can't unhear it) but the other one doesn't. Overall, I think the quality is consistent with just some annoyance here and there but I have to say the build quality is great when you take into account the price offers. I will continue being a customer if you continue to make devices with Linux and Android builds (I fiddle with the kernel, change system images, customize them, etc). Honest opinion, if you stop building these with software that we can fiddle with, I am personally out; the only reason I buy them is because I can fiddle with them. 4 Stars out of 5 because, while the quality is consistent, there are still some annoyances here-and-there.

This thing is really surprising. The size is perfect for on the go gaming and the 4 inch ips screen is premium. Even with my large hands I have no issues playing games and the operating system is really user friendly. I can’t recommend it enough!!!

I really liked the way this little handheld works, no fuzzing with downloads or operating systems, which of course can be done, but for me, an old timer, I just want to add games and play, and this beauty lets me do that. Love it, just went and bought three more different models to try the ergonomics on them.

Love this form factor, very good support and updates.
Only issue is that I get the device heat to bother me even while playing simple games
But battery, audio and controls are amazing !
And the display OMG supergood!!

the RG40XX is pure swag, joins my 280V and my 35XX plus, soon as I have more extra money I’ll but another one!

This is a great system and my 5th anbernic device can’t be more happier with my purchase and support from the anbernic team

I like the 4” display. It’s a big plus to play games. The controls works well. Analog stick seems to be better than on rg353vs. The stereo sound is nice however the audio quality isn’t perfect but that’s ok. The console also light, you can play with it long time.

Mi sono trovato benissimo, la console è funzionale e ha degli ottimi materiali, unica pecca, se proprio devo trovarla, è che mi aspettavo giochi più "famosi" come pokemon e super mario, completamente assenti, invece alcuni sono stati una sorpresa come god of war per psp. Peccato ripeto solo per la scelta dei giochi iniziale. tutto il resto è fantastico, colori, suoni e giocabilità

This essentially a bigger and more powerful version of the RG35xxH. Both are excellent game handhelds. I've tried a few custom O/S's, but find that I prefer the stock O/S. I love that I can ssh in from my desktop machine to make tweaks and use scp to add Roms.

The RG40xxh is really lovely, made from high-quality materials, with a very bright 4-inch screen and vibrant colours. The customer service is impeccable; they reply almost immediately.

I do own a steamdeck and i love it, but it is quite bulky. I really love the formfactor of the rg40xx h, way more portable and i can actually carry it around and launch it up for a quick session of gaming easily. For the price i dont think anything can beat it. Also, it runs linux and it is quite hackable if you know what you are doing :)

Great I love it

I really have been having fun with this little guy, screen looks great.
Really good library of snes, sega, pc engine and arcade classics. Some other review said “ there weren’t enough games” which might be true if you’re only interested in PlayStation.
But there’s probably 1000 games on this device!
But let’s face it, you have to be willing to learn how to use the technology if you use these kind of devices
One very welcome feature is being able to now remove games from your collection on the anbernic. This is something I always wanted because there are generally an overwhelming amount of games, so it’s nice to be able to personally curate

The device itself is great runs all the games very well no issues on that end. It just does not have as many games as I had hoped. Only has a decent library of NES and SNES games and even those are slacking. I have someone building me a new micro SD so it should be great once I get that. Again the device itself is amazing just a lot of work to get yourself a massive library.

This is my 2nd console and I really like it with all the features.

After researching many retro handheld systems, I decided to try the RG40XXH and I am so glad I chose it! This relatively small unit fits nicely in the hand, controls are great, and the game graphics are amazingly good. The only thing better would be if the console choices had better images and names, but all in all I'm very pleased!

I absolutely love it. It’s a great way to just pass time whilst having some awesome fun with some retro games.

Love this device it's great so far I wanted to try one out before I sunk bigger money into one that could play games higher than saturn, PS1, and N64 I really enjoy playing PS1 games I haven't playing in years though.i also enjoy playing Dreamcast Games that I never got to play.

Black version here, love the look and the feeling of the material in the hands, buttons are really quiet and have a good backdrop feeling when pressing them, it emulates retro games from older consoles seamlessly until ps1 games at 60fps and psp with solid 30fps. It arrived fast and safe. Love it, big thanks to Anbernic! Keep up the good work!
