This is a nice little console.

It plays well. I'm not much of a gamer so I'm on a learning curve here. The buttons are very responsive and the lcd is sharp and bright. I put Batocera on a micro sd and it loaded right up and ran great. It was well worth the expenditure.

Five star Anbernic but RG35XX PLUS I think was better...

I have multiple Anbernic consoles and am a big fan of them. Back in the golden days, I probably owned all of the handhelds at one time or another (before the year 2000).
While the RG35XX 2024 console is great and I like it a lot, it lost some of the retro "feel":
- It's too light, when you put in a smaller battery, it made it lighter and that gives it a cheaper feel
- The case surface is a little rough unlike its predecessors, which have a smooth case (like the old game boy, etc handhelds).
- the D-Pad is not as good as the D-pad on the two older models, at times, when I press to go right or left and thumb too close to the center of the D-pad, it moves down or locks the sprite (never did this in older models)
-and finally, I liked very much the letters on your RG35XX PLUS Buttons, but that was not on the 2024 model.

Great but..

The hardware itself is great as always. Solid construction and very decent specs to will play up to Dreamcast games smoothly.
I already own 2 RG35XX and jumped on the 2024 model because I really wanted a black shell. The stock OS is fine but I really do wish I could simply run Garlic because it is my favorite OS. So for now the 2024 will stay on the shelf until Garlic 2 is in a usable shape...
If like me you play only 2D games, you can't go wrong getting either of the RG35XX models. Just confirm that you favorite custom firmwares do run on the specific device you're going for.
