ANBERNIC RG 477M

I love this handheld. The screen is pretty remarkable for a non-Amoled screen, first IPS screen that makes me not miss a LED screen. This is coming from someone who bought a oled steam deck 6 months after getting a lcd steam deck. Chose anbernic as first emulator device because I’m old and too lazy to relearn how to setup emulator device, I just wanna spend more time playing games instead of tweaking device which is fun in its own way. Bought it with the 256gb sd card with games and now customizing my own selection of games. The RGLauncher makes this an easy task as it’s a simple drag and drop experience. Why is this almost perfect? Because the only thing it cannot do is playing DS and 3DS games with dual screen. Thankfully I have a 3DS XL for that and I only play in 3D mode for that.

Handles everything I've played (up through GameCube and PS2) and takes all the shaders/filters I've thrown at it. Feels premium throughout and controls like a dream. I do wish the triggers were stacked instead of inline, but that's my only quibble. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I have not put this system down. Able to play the system right out of the box. Great system for a beginner Retro gamer.

It took a few weeks to get here but when it did it was nicely packed the 477 m is a fantastic system plays PlayStation 2 PlayStation 1 SNES games and loads of great the systems very well built.

The device was amazing! The one thing I really dislike, and what has me going back and forth between my retroid pocket 5, is the Dpad.
Might be a defect, but my D- pad is already making squeaky noises after a day of playing on it. It is really bothersome and it snapped away the premium feel of the device. The RP5 feels better to me than this one, heck the Anbernic 406V D pad feels better, it just sucks that I encountered these issues so early on. I wish they had a black color way to it, but other than that it’s an excellent device.

I use a different front end and omg it just works so well on this device.

Love the RG 477M and the RG 477V which I play all my 4 by 3 retro games on. The screen is awesome and the metal on the RG 477M makes it feel premium. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for device to play retro games on.

Everything about this device is fantastic. The only criticism would be the noise level of the fan.

Love this device! Sturdy and powerful for what I need it to do. Swapped to gammaOS and dropped the brightness and the battery lasts forever.

Great build quality, good specs. The only drawback of this handheld comes from anbernic own launcher, it doesn't support PCEngine-CD, GameCube, PS3 and switch, it lacks functionality of downloading cover art etc.
If anbernic can improve the software, this would be a perfect machine.

So I started getting into emulating a couple months ago, and my laptop wasn't good enough to run PS2/gc era games. I did some research and found this device, and bookmarked it for later. Once I started getting paid again, I ordered... One of their other devices by accident. I sent an email asking whether I could get a refund, just get the other device sent, etc. and Anbernic replied and helped me out the same day. Amazing customer service, better than I'd hoped for. A week later, my 477M showed up!

I'm incredibly happy with this device. It runs almost everything I'd want to run, including a lot of android games I wanted to play but didn't want to connect a controller to my phone for. It feels very well-constructed, pretty hefty, and the buttons/triggers are all nicely tactile. The triggers took a moment to get used to, the layout's unusual, but easy enough to adapt to. I was able to use my self-dumped ROMs thanks to the SD card slot. The screen has great resolution; despite being 4:3, it's vibrant and perfect for anything this device can run.

I bought this as a way to make overnight shifts go by faster and I love it. I can't recommend it enough!

Anbernic RG 477m is almost the perfect retro gaming handheld, it has style and performance you would expect from a high end device but it has only 1 issue.

While the LED’s round the thumb sticks is an excellent touch, Anbernic neglected to include backlight buttons for the others, which make it difficult to see when gaming in the dark. It’s a small personal issue for otherwise a excellent console.

My brand new RG477M's screen was defective and Anbernic worked with me to replace my device. Excellent stuff.

Honestly I wasnt sure if I should buy this but im really glad I did!
Its very powerful and so smooth and easy to use.

Anbernic needs to stop putting the D pad up top on flagship devices powerful enough to run PS2, GC, and anything past them. It's not terrible, but it feels like an intentionally bad design choice. So do the stacked shoulder buttons. Luckily there's a guy on Etsy selling a kit to replace them. The thing is powerful though. And the form factor is top notch. The thinness of the case and metal construction give this a premium feel I prefer to my Ayn Odin 2 mini. I just wish Anbernic would get a snap dragon chipset in here instead and fix the other two issues with the d pad and shoulder buttons.

I love this. The size is just right, the build is gorgeous (the material is really premium) and it feels solid in my hands, while not being too heavy IMHO. Everything works with minimal setup, and I yet have to try something that's slow or stutters: it's just a beast of a little device.

My only gripes: it's a bit too smooth, my hands don't "catch" it as well as I'd want; and the left stick is a tiny bit too low on the frame, my thumb is at a slightly difficult angle. But they are small gripes, it's definitely very playable.

Software works well. Super premium feel. If I had a criticism it would be that for the higher end games this thing is capable of running, analog triggers might be nice.

I picked this up about a month ago and it has quickly became my EDC device. I love how premium the metal makes the device feel and I also enjoy the inline shoulder buttons, which help to keep the device very pocketable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a premium feeling but compact device.

This thing is the absolute business! 4:3 is the perfect ratio for PS2 and older; the systems I use this for, and the games I play all look amazing on this screen! The in-line triggers aren’t my favorite, but I don’t use them much, even on PS2, so it’s not a big deal. I don’t use the sticks much either, but when I do they feel great! The chocolate bronze color is really sweet, too!

I don't think it gets better than this offering. The feel in the hand is perfect compared to my 353 or 405 which felt a bit tiny and my hands would cramp after a few hours of play, this solves the issue I didn't even realize I had! Performance of the Deministy 8300 has been impressive from what I've asked of it so far!

I recently purchased this and have set it up with Emulation Station and made the perfect console to play playstation and ps2 games on the go. It works well and the controls are comfy. Only complaint would be sometimes the fan is loud but that is really not an issue. It runs well if you use the right cores with retroarch. Highly recommended.
