Does everything I thought it would.
Excellent buttons.
I found my Miyoo Mini Flip has better contrast and colours, but I hate playing on it because I get eye strain on such a tiny screen. I much prefer the RG35XX with its larger screen.
The RG35XX also has HDMI out, so you can literally use it as a console too!
I would prefer they had white or black or dark blue solid though, but I only notice that when I'm not playing games.
Battery life seems good for the amount of time you'd want to hold this little guy. Doesn't come with NES or GB Tetris. Dpad is a tiny bit touchy, when pressing down it also wants to go right. Not a hard fix. Lastly it doesn't have WiFi or Bluetooth? Doesn't matter to me. Umm yeah, it's good, neato burrito.
The build quality is high, it is very convenient to play, but the standby mode is poorly implemented - the screen turns off, but the device is discharged as during the game
The hardware itself is great as always. Solid construction and very decent specs to will play up to Dreamcast games smoothly.
I already own 2 RG35XX and jumped on the 2024 model because I really wanted a black shell. The stock OS is fine but I really do wish I could simply run Garlic because it is my favorite OS. So for now the 2024 will stay on the shelf until Garlic 2 is in a usable shape...
If like me you play only 2D games, you can't go wrong getting either of the RG35XX models. Just confirm that you favorite custom firmwares do run on the specific device you're going for.
Plays a lot of games and build quality is very good.
This is by far my favorite emulator from Anbernic. The retro feel and look to the device is incredible. The graphics quality is gorgeous and sharp. The interface is user friendly and easy to use.
It IS dope
Really surprised by the quality, definitely a good system overall. I only bought it as I was led to believe it had a port of the original Phoenix but alas it does not. But plenty on there to keep me interested.
Great piece of tech. The quality is really well done, the buttons feel great, the screen looks great and battery life is good. The UI is well done and I havent had the device for long so I cant give a year review on it but so far the product works as intended and its very easy to use and add your own games if youd like. The product got here within a week using the standard shipping option. Only complaint which has nothing to do with the device itself was the shipping fee. For a product being shipped in the US and I am living in the US, $20 feels a little steep and since its not included in the product price and is added on at check out. I felt a little baited, however the review I am leaving is for the actual product by itslef and not the overall experience with the company. Amazing piece of tech and im very happy with my purchase.
Great quality. Brother in law loved it.
Bought it for my sister and she was immediately hit by the nostalgia game boy design and surprised by the amount of games and console you can play inside of it. Psp games run surprisingly well. It was a great deal overall
Just what I was looking for, it's perfect for my daughter.

So I bought 2 of these 1 for myself and 1 for my son... I'm not "great" with tech but was able to figure out how to add roms and videos to my son's in under a week... Opened mine and the screen had a defect, customer support was very helpful offering an exchange (within their worry free window)... I'm debating ordering a 3rd console, but maybe one of the ones with dual joysticks...
I really like the device, it feels premium and is very well built. The display is excellent and doesn’t scratch easily. All kinds of consoles are pre-installed, along with countless games. The price-performance ratio is outstanding.
Bought this to scratch the nostalgic itch, and boy howdy does this satisfy. Very user friendly, especially loading my own roms on to the SD card, Very easy for a caveman like me. A+
It’s good but I got it with hopes it would have Pokémon games on it like the older version of the RG35XX
It's just simply espectacular. The only thing that scare me in this moment is what about if the sd card ends corrupted? You will need a back up for that for sure.
The device arrived very quickly, considering it was during Chinese New Year.
Regarding the device's feel, it feels great and is just the right size for the pocket. The only downside is the D-pad, which is too sensitive. I can control up or down with the side buttons by simply pressing them, which is not always desirable. The Y button doesn't always work, but I can live with it since I use A and B more frequently.
What bothers me personally (though this is subjective) is that the battery is only 2600mAh, while the Plus model with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth has a 3300mAh battery. Why use the smaller battery here? Wouldn't it have been better to keep the larger battery, especially now that there's more space?
Overall, it's a great device, and it's more than enough for gaming and passing the time.
Overall score: 4 out of 5 stars or 8/10 on my scale.
+Handheld and compact
+Very good display
+A very good all-rounder
+Design
- Small battery
- Keyboard not 100% perfect yet
I love the rg35xx. It has all of my favorite retro games and systems. Very easy to navigate through the menus.
First off, I’m a casual gamer, I grew up with the classics of the late 80s and 90s; nes, snes, sega and turbo grafx. My siblings were harder into games while I was more into the the slam bang side scrollers and peaked with PS2. Well, a few years ago, after some extraordinary life circumstances, I needed a new hobby and turned to retro gaming and while discovering some games I would otherwise have never played, collecting and playing on original hardwares became extremely cumbersome on my wallet, looking for an alternative, I was recommended Ambernic and here they all, working perfectly all in one place. I was able to curate the games featured on this set while having plenty of other options and latent discoveries. I wish Sega Saturn emulation wasn’t so hard, but that’s just an observation and not a complaint.
I love this thing, and I love that I can play anytime anywhere.
This device is bomb. So good. Wish it had WiFi, but it’s still great.
The Anbernic RG35XX is a solid choice for those who want to get into emulating classic games from systems such as the NES, SNES, PlayStation 1 and Sega Genesis. While it’s not perfect (UI is a bit lacking, some game catalogs are pretty sparse in comparison to others), for the price it is a great handheld for those who grew up with the Nintendo GameBoy or GameBoy Pocket.
Ngl shits gasssss
I kinda wish I had looked up reviews for this model before ordering. Other versions of the rg35xx might have been a better bang for the buck when it comes to features. However, I'm still happy with this one as it lets me do pretty much everything I wanted from it. I'm just happy to have something that lets me play psx on the go or in bed.
This system has let me play my favorite games from my childhood and they are great. Also my screen protector was damaged on arrival. I messaged support and they got me a replacement out immediately. Great product and great service.
This a great way to play all your favorite games from the past and also hundreds more. I love playing with this system makes feel like I’m playing the real console. One thing that does confuse me is that there are games that require control sticks instead of the dpad to move around which makes playing some of the games harder. But all in all this is a really great product if you’re a fan of the retro games and consoles.

Good device for retrogaming
