ANBERNIC RG35XXSP

Pretty damn good portable jack of all trade console with a cool clamshell design, shame that the os it is shipped with does not handle Bluetooth earphones and double shame that it is the only os that supports this portable's most notable feature (sleep mode when closed).

Love this thing such an awesome device for a great price a must have for any retro video game lover, only gripe I have is that buttons are a little to clicky it functions great still just a personal gripe. I’m using Knuilli os but os comes with it is great to but seems game run better on retroarch. Wonderful retro system tho I’m sure there will be improved versions of this coming in future which is awesome cause clam shell handhelds are great.

The design of this thing is incredible, it's really exactly what you expect it to be, a GBA SP that can play other retro consoles as well. The hinge feels amazing, flipping it open and back is very satisfying.
The buttons/dpad are on the stiffer side, but are also very precise. You can reduce the stiffness by doing a simple tape mod to the switches, and the console is also very easy to teardown and put it back together, so the repairability is very promising.
I love how pocketable it is while still keeping the screen and buttons protected, it's the only device I'm comfortable taking with me out of the house.
The RG40XXH/V has a better and bigger screen and are more comfortable, and of course the more expensive Android options have better performance for DC/N64/PSP, but as far as the overall package, I like the RG35XXSP the best out of all of them because of how pocketable and well designed it is.
It's also very very cheap for something of this quality. Very easy to recommend.

Upon receiving my Anbernic RG35XXSP, I knew that this handheld device (like so many others) would require a bit of work. Whether it was figuring out the operating system (I chose Knulli, it's great!), or buying an adapter so that the micro SD card could be read by my computer, it wasn't easy. However, I can confidently say that this handheld is incredible! I love GBA and NDS games, and this device worked great. Even N64 games (maybe just on Knulli) worked great, and I'm excited to get into some great games through this. The best thing about it though, is the clamp shell. If you loved the GBA, the NDS, or the 3DS (which I definitely did), you'll love how pocketable this device is. Overall, a great device. Would recommend!

P.S. I used a Chromebook through the whole process. So, if you're worried about that being an issue, it shouldn't be too bad.
