ANBERNIC RG35XX Plus

Bought this handheld mainly because I wanted to play older Pokemon games and ROM hacks of them. Super easy process to get them added to the SD and booted up to play. I have already sunk well over 50 hours into games that give me the nostalgia kick we all love. 100% recommend.

The RG35XX Plus is perfect for travel size. Ita powerful enough to play PS1 games flawlessly which is not common in smaller handhelds. On top of that I love the Gameboy nostalgia. The gray color is so cool. I installed MuOS and I have been having so much fun. Already beat two NES classic games.

I received my order after 3 long weeks but the wait was worth it! I've been having a blast playing all my retro games and PC ports. The rg35xx+ is a well built device for it's price. I highly recommend it.

Reasons I love this:

1) I can play all the games I used to play as a kid in the 80s and 90s again
2) I can play all the games I couldn’t afford or get my hands on because of region restrictions
3) great size and feel
4) Nice build quality
5) hooking it up to my big screen

And now to balance out the review: -

1) save slots occasionally corrupt
2) Bluetooth controller (in my case an Xbox one) doesn’t always work for a game
3) The UI is a bit ugly (but then I didn’t buy it to look at the menus!) - thinking about Batocera as an example of a good looking retro emulation UI.

Plays more systems than I need even. Very ESC friendly and looks great in black. Upgraded to a single 256MB SD card.

Its powerful enough to play almost all my retro library. Fits in the pocket and the battery last forever.

An amazing product with everything you want from a retro handheld, only thing I recommend is buying your own SD cards as the stock SD Cards will eventually break so you need to understand how to format new SD cards. Very easy to add more games. Only thing that dissapointed me was the packaging said black seethrough shell which is what I ordered, when I opened it up it was the white console. Would have loved the black one but after it took a while to get my hands on it is rather keep the one I have

At first, I wasn’t sure if it the consul actually can run that many games, but it’s all true! I really love this console, because is so portable, you can actually put it in your pocket and doesn’t bother you at all. It’s so easy to load games in saves states. I will definitely buy more from Anbernic in the future.

Plays all games nicely, some ps1 or PsP ones can lag a little but you can change some settings in RA and it is fine.
Installed some custom firmwares based on the stock OS, and all is nice.

Waiting on community to release more themes for the stock OS, the default look is a litle meh.
A decent selection of ROM's comes on the device.
Battery is enough depends a lot on what game you play and how bright you keep the screen. I got between 4-6h between charges.

Stock SD Card is crap it failed in 1week of use and corrupted, I got a Samsung one and reflashed the bios/firmware using community guides.

I ended buying a 2nd one of these after my first 2 weeks of my original in case something happened to the first one, but now I have the translucent black and the grey one and ai love them both. Been playing everything from Atari 2600 games up until Playstation 1 and dreamcast games. The only complaints are the microSD that comes with it is garbage, replace it with a SanDisk, and the OS works but lacks any extra features, which currently custom firmware is being developed and some are in alpha and beta stages of development which you can try on maybe another microSD card but I wouldn't use as your main driver just yet.

Che dire, meglio di quanto mi aspettassi. Piccola, comoda e potente. Sarebbe da migliorare solo la qualità della sd fornita e il backup del firmware reperibile sul sito..nn proprio comodo.

Its been a weeks and its still working i like how i get it so fast even though i order while on holiday because every people is off in their work on those week. it takes 12 days to get it order from December 22 to January 2 I also waiting to Garlic Os to get official so i can customize my games And mod it overall its 10/10 i wish i can still play this until next year because a lot of people saying that the anbernic is easy to get broke but i think Its not. Btw as soon as i get the handheld i play pokemon games its great for the people who only wants to play gameboy snes psp ps1 and not the big games if you know what i mean.

Before I got my anbernic plus I was searching all over for roms and Garlic 2.0 to install when I received mine. But once I started playing my back in the day favorite games from gameboy color and gameboy like all the Pokémon versions I was pretty much distracted already. I forgot all about the other roms I could get and download. So now I’m pleased with the games already put in this and I guess all I really wanted was to play my favorite GBA and GB games on my favorite gameboy handheld but with a modern twist which is nice to look and hold with triggers in the back. Still trying to figure out what games use the triggers though. Oh probably the only thing I changed was the colored buttons to all black but that’s about it.

Une évolution intéressante de la console RG35XX. C'est cool d'emmener ses nombreux jeux partout. L'interface manque parfois d'intuitivité. Heureusement les logiciels sont déjà installés. Prêt à jouer !

Love it has so many games I enjoyed as a kid even ps1 games gota say I’m hooked

I bought this for my preteen daughter. This has kept her in her room under the powerful spell retro games put on you. Haha. I would only buy this if you love a device that works great out of the box and requires very little to no setup. Thank you anbernic.

Preordered when launched and was dissappointed to see several people receive theirs weeks before me. Figured ordering direct from Anbernic would give me an advantage. It didn’t. Packaging and shipment arrived safe and the product is an improvement over the XX .
