ANBERNIC RG 55G1 gives you more choice in how your games run. With support for Turnip Vulkan alongside the native Qualcomm GPU driver, you can select a graphics driver in compatible emulators to suit the title you want to play.
A Smoother Game, a Better Picture
Turnip can help some games run at higher frame rates, while also improving compatibility and image quality. In supported emulators, it can address texture rendering glitches and allow certain titles that encounter errors with the native driver to run.
The benefits vary by game and emulator configuration. Having both driver options gives you a way to explore a different graphics setup when a title needs it, whether the issue is a visual glitch or a game that will not run correctly.
Turnip Driver Files Within Reach
Dedicated Turnip driver files are available in the Turnip folder in internal storage. Compatible emulators can load these files through their graphics or GPU driver settings.
How to Select a GPU Driver
Detailed setup steps are provided below the video.
The following examples show how to configure GPU drivers in third-party emulators compatible with the RG 55G1, including Vita3K, Dolphin, and Azahar.
Vita3K
- Open Vita3K and go to Settings → Graphics. Check that Backend Renderer is set to Vulkan.
- Scroll to Custom GPU Driver and select the installed Turnip driver.
- Check that the status below confirms the selected custom driver is loaded and active. To use the native driver instead, select Default in the same section.
Turnip is already installed and enabled in the Vita3K configuration shown in the video.
Dolphin
- Open Dolphin Emulator and go to Settings → Graphics Settings. Check that Video Backend is set to Vulkan.
- Open GPU Driver and select Install driver. In the file picker, open Internal storage → Turnip and select the supplied driver package.
- Wait for the driver installation success message. The same GPU Driver dialog includes Default for returning to the system driver.
Azahar
- Open Azahar and check that Graphics API is set to Vulkan in its graphics settings. Then open GPU Driver Manager from the home screen.
- Select Install, open Internal storage → Turnip, and choose the supplied driver package.
- In GPU Driver Manager, select Turnip, or select the system GPU driver entry to use the native driver. Return to the emulator’s home screen to apply your selection.
Choose the Emulator in RG Home
For the Dolphin and Azahar examples, if you launch games through RG Home, associate each game with the emulator you have configured:
- In RG Home, highlight the target game and press Select to open its emulator settings.
- Set the launch option to Dolphin Emulator or Azahar(release), matching the emulator you configured.
- Select Save, then launch the game.
