Simply the best vertical retro handheld out there. Feels very comfortable to hold. The sticks are a welcome upgrade from the “JoyCon” style ones previously used. The display is great for 4:3 content upscaled to 1.5x which gives you a pixel perfect integer scale of 960x720. The chipset gives you enough power to run a decent amount of the GC/PS2 libraries, and anything below that should run flawlessly as long as rom/emulator compatibility is good. Would love to get an atomic purple RG406H to go with this one.
The RG406V is one of the best retro handhelds out there. It's nostalgic but at the same time brings the vertical form factor to an entire new level. You have to use it to believe!
It's comfortable, ergonomic and has possibly the best d-pad in the industry. The sticks were also perfected in relation to past Anbernic handhelds. While I almost have the feeling of holding the definitive handheld whenever I pick it up to play, there are still some flaws:
- Face buttons are great but too small. Sometimes I accidentally press buttons I don't want to press. Please make them bigger, Anbernic.
- Screen bezels could be smaller as in the RG400XX V to make the screen pop a little bit more.
- T820 is still not powerful enough for GC and PS2. A SnapDragon chip would be perfect in terms of power and compatibility.
- Screen viewing angles could better (especially from below)
