🖥️ It Starts with the Screens
RG DDS pairs an approximately 4.7-inch upper IPS display (5:3, 1200 × 720) with an approximately 4-inch lower IPS display (4:3, 960 × 720). Both custom panels offer 300 PPI and a specified brightness of 500 nits.
Each display triples the width and height in pixels of the corresponding original 3DS image while preserving its aspect ratio. Color, brightness, refresh rate, and display materials are also matched to maintain a consistent look across both screens.
🎮 Designed for the Way You Hold It
RG DDS places its controls on either side of the lower display, with two analog sticks, a D-pad, and ABXY buttons arranged around the screen. Their placement is designed around where your fingers naturally reach. A UV-coated finish and dual alloy friction hinges complete a clamshell design that considers both surface feel and the movement of the lid.
Front-facing stereo speakers bring the sound toward the player, while a new Z-axis linear motor provides vibration feedback. The motor is designed to deliver strong responses with finer variations, adding a tactile dimension alongside the audio and physical controls.
